The magnificence of Sydney lies in simpler things.

Here are a few enjoyable yet affordable activities you could do in Sydney, during your stay-

  • Geek out on museums and galleries- Whether a cultural enthusiast or not, Sydney is the land to many historical monuments. These have become museums and art galleries over time and provide insight into the past. The Rock’s discovery museum, Art Gallery of NSW, and the National Maritime Museum are few of the places that provide free entry.

  • Pay a visit to the Sydney Harbour Bridge- Climbing onto the Sydney Harbour Bridge is an opportunity you should not miss. The bridge gives a picturesque view of the city, which looks splendid during sunrise and sunset. It also has a path for pedestrians to walk on.

  • The Bondi to Coogee trek- one of the most iconic things to do is to go on a walk from Bondi to Coogee. You will find yourself walking alongside several beaches that you can take a quick dip in. The beaches are a serene place to relax. Getting yourself a cold beer while you stroll around the place is an amazing way to spend an evening in Sydney.

  • The parks of Sydney- the Bronte Park, Hit Hyde Park and a few others have minimal entry fees. The parks have luscious green gardens and pretty landscapes. These are good stops to have a picnic or to take a walk. The meat fests and food stalls are a treat to the palette. Places like the Dharawal National park can be visited to learn about the local flora and fauna.

  • Migration of whales- Oz Whale Watching gives you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch migrating whales. A spectacle to the eye, pods of whales can be seen along the shore from May to October every year.

  • Take a ferry ride- Sydney is connected through waterways. Taking a public ferry is not just the cheapest way to get from one place to another, but to also experience the view of the city. As you drift along, the view you see is like none other.

  • The Opera Bar- This bar has free music nights and a splendid view from its terrace. The Opera Bar is a great spot to catch up with your friends or for a fun time during the night.

  • Chinatown- No trip is complete without buying some souvenirs. Chinatown is your one-stop shop to buy all things Sydney. Be it jewellery, gifts for people back home, or clothes. It is cheaper than the other options and is a one-of-a-kind experience

  • The Royal Botanical Gardens- the Gardens have free guides who will walk you through information regarding local vegetation. It is also a great stop to have lunch or simply enjoy the beauty of the well-groomed gardens.

  • The Darling Harbour- present in the interior of the city, the harbour is a worthwhile place to spend time at. It is surrounded by many cafés and Sidney’s famous aquarium. A little on the costlier side, the Shelly beach is a good place to stop some sea creatures.
