Villa San Bali
- Written by: Linda Lim
Neatly tucked in Bali's spiritual heart of Ubud is a luxurious six-bedroom fully staffed Villa San. The spacious grounds of this Ubud retreat offer freedom and flexibility for both families and large groups sharing, with hammocks, sun loungers arranged around the 25m x 5m lap pool and a pool pavilion setting up to 15 people.
Apart from the open-sided living and dining spaces, there are two well-equipped entertainment rooms, a gym and a children's playroom. French doors from all the bedrooms look out over tranquil gardens, only steps away from the long sloping lawn and the inviting pool.
Villa San showcases an impressive array of artworks and handicrafts originating from China, Africa and Indonesia. Also reflecting the owners' artistic and spiritual leanings, there's a loft studio for painting, a telescope for star-gazing and a Buddhist stupa and yoga terrace tucked in a quiet corner of the property - perfect for group or individual meditation and yoga practice.
The friendly and helpful staff, including a butler and chef, are around the clock to meet every request. Feel free to ask them about the Balinese Hindu culture, art galleries, options for exploring and learning about the region. Those who wish to explore the surroundings will be delighted to know that Villa San is only a stone's throw from excellent spas, luxuriant rice fields, and attractions such as Ubud Market, Ubud Botanic Gardens and the famed Monkey Forest.
