How To Make The Most Of A Short Getaway
- Written by: News Feature Team
Weekend getaways are the best, right? We all need a break from time to time, but it's often difficult to convince ourselves that we can fit in any time to jet off elsewhere. Here in Australia we are literally an island, so it can be hard to get creative with places to go! However, there are so many ways to make the most of what little time you might have, so here are a few ideas!

You're more likely to be adventurous with somewhere you've never thought of going before if you're not spending an absolute fortune whilst doing it. There are tons of great sites to find deals, but Skyscanner is brilliant because it allows you to find the cheapest month to go to a certain place. So, if you've always dreamed of jetting off to Bali but you're not sure you can justify the expense, selecting the 'cheapest month' option can really give you guidance on when to go. Better still, they even have a facility to choose the 'cheapest destination', too - so why not really get creative and start thinking about somewhere you never even imagined going before? From New Zealand to Fiji, there's bound to be somewhere that catches your eye.
Check Your Airline Facilities
If you're going away for just a few days, your airline travel may well take up a bit of a chunk of that! It's best to feel comfortable and like there's loads to do. Plenty of airlines now include Wi-Fi, and it's a little godsend if your boss makes you promise to keep up to date on emails in exchange for an extra couple of days off! Of course, it's a great way to relax, unwind and enjoy the flight, particularly if you have a fear of flying. From Facebook to gaming, you can do it all. Why not try some fun, free pokies to test your luck before your adventure, too?! Winning on a flight has got to be a natural high, right?
Plan Excursions Before You Arrive
If time is limited, don't let your experience be limited, too. There are loads of ways to plan ahead, and one of the best is to read the tips of the best Australian travel bloggers. They know all the best stuff to do in any particular place or city, so they sift out all the rubbish stuff so that you don't have to!

And Remember...
You don't have to leave the country to have a great getaway! This country is HUGE and so there's bound to be a coast or even part of the outback you haven't explored but would like to! Have fun!
