6 Human Body Organs That Requires The Utmost Care

  • Written by: News Company

Everyone knows that taking good care of the body is important. Your body is the vessel you will live in throughout your entire life, so it stands to reason that you will want them to be in top condition at all times. Although taking care of the entire physical form is a must, there are some organs that require a bit of extra care and attention. They are some of the most important when it comes to keeping you alive, healthy, and making sure your quality of life is everything it should be.

THE VIPs OF THE HUMAN BODY

1. The Lungs

Obviously breathing is quite conducive to staying alive, and healthy lungs are needed to keep you breathing in all that lovely oxygen that the body must have to survive. Oxygen is transferred to the bloodstream, where it is carried throughout the body to organs, systems, and the cells that comprise your awesome self. It then acts as a trash collector, scooping up the carbon dioxide the body rids itself of each time you exhale. Keeping the lungs healthy and in good working order can be a challenge considering the amount of pollution in the atmosphere in so many places these days, especially in large cities. However, you can protect your lungs from harmful things like cigarette smoke and dangerous chemicals found in a number of household cleaning products.

2. The Ears

How different would life be if you couldn't hear? Imagine not being able to hear music, birds, your loved ones' voices. The ears do more than just enhance your enjoyment of the world. Ears play a large part in the overall health of the nasal and throat areas too. For example, if you develop an ear infection, it can easily lead to sinus and throat problems as well. The three are very closely connected - literally so, in fact - and what affects one affects all.

3. The Heart

It goes without saying that the heart is the top dog, the CEO when it comes to running things in the human body. Without the heart, none of the other organs would be able to function. The heart supplies blood to every area of the body. The blood carries oxygen and nutrients that the other systems need in order to work properly. Heart health is one of the most important things for every individual to focus on. Heart disease is the number one killer among adults in the United States. Harvard Medical School has published a list of 10 simple things everyone can do every day to take care of their heart.

4. The Eyes

Have you ever thought about how much more difficult life would be without your vision? If you've ever had an eye injury that required you to wear a covering over your eye, then you may have an idea of just how crucial good eyesight is. Along with helping you take in the world around you, the eyes can also indicate when there are certainly other things going on with your health, such as diabetes or high cholesterol.

5. The Liver

The liver has some pretty important responsibilities within the human body. It acts as a filter to clean the impurities and toxins from the blood, it converts food into the nutrients needed for the body's various systems to function properly, and it produces the proteins the body uses to help ward off infections, just to name a few. One of its most important functions is breaking down medications so that they don't flood into the system in a potentially unhealthy way. An unhealthy liver can lead to liver disease and a number of other extremely serious conditions. Take care of your liver by limiting alcohol consumption, never abuse medications or use street drugs, and maintain a healthy body weight so that the liver can function properly.

6. The Brain

Right up there with the heart when it comes to running the show is the brain. Like the rest of the body, the brain relies on you for good nutrition, proper rest, exercise, and all the other things that contribute to its healthy function. It is important to pay attention to things like stress levels and thought processes in order to maintain healthy mental functioning. Trying to keep a positive frame of mind is extremely beneficial to your brain (as well as overall health). Exercise your mind daily by reading and learning new things. Staying mentally active has been proven to stave off mental health issues such as Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. Listen to music, meditate, take part in mentally challenging activities to give your brain a good workout and keep it working great.
